workflow

In order to apply the Hydroscope method to a sailing project, three distinct steps are involved :

  1. creating a ship model
  2. logging sailing data
  3. analysing the data

The first step consists of creating a digital model of the boat. It only has to be done once at the start of the project, although the model has to be kept up to date with the latest modification of the boat to stay relevant. The logging step, involves manually annotating each sailing session you wish to commit to the database to give it the required weather and ship context. Once sufficient data has been gathered, the analysis of the data to find the answers to the different questions you might have regarding the performance of the yacht can take place.
